My Bitchin Chaco's

I do a lot of walking, probably not more than the average gypsy. It does allow me the freedom to eat more than the average person allows themselves of whatever the hell I want.








For years I have been a flip flopper, everything from teva to sanuok to ll bean. I knew that with the mileage I was walking most days I needed to start taking better care of my feet. With the new naked feet revolution I have tried many of the new shoes. Sadly most are either just to odd looking for me or terribly uncomfortable.
So I decided to skip up my looking and become interested with hiking sandals that don't look too butch and are still urban city walkers. I fell in love with Chaco. So today I found a great deal on these....







Not the cutesy green chick ones I wanted but still a rad pair of chaos.

Decorating like a gypsy 101

So, I like to hang things on my walls.





We have totally moved in when our walls are covered with small objects, plates, boxes, large art, small art, mirrors, boards...what-else?
I also do this gather clutter on most top shelves thing...















I made this radical little curtain...


I will totally post better pictures tomorrow. This is my first jump back into blogging after a few crazy months!

Gypsy go home

Wow! Our little tattoo gypsy family has done some crazy traveling in the last few years. Right now we are at our last spot for awhile. The bay area will always be here as long as my wonderful sister in law lives here. Now that my husband and I have our little person we have a empty bed anytime. Lucky for us the hubby can guest spot anytime out this way also.
The tattooed gypsy dad left two days ago for our homeland. In search of housing for the other part of our gypsy tattooed bunch. I am very glad to report that he has found us an amazing little house that is right in our fav part of the old SW. I have been told that drapes are needed for all windows. Does anyone else get excited like me when they hear this? The most amazing fabric store ever is in Reno. Home Fabrics & Rugs









Anyhoo Home Fabric & Rugs is just one of the many reasons I am so excited to go back home to Reno.
My husband works at Reno's first and oldest tattoo shop Body Graphics Tattoo
Come see his work. It's a radical old shop with wall to wall original Pat Martynuik flash.
I miss my gypsy tattoo daddy something bad. Saturday my tubular in laws are driving us over the mountains to Reno. We are actually going to unload all of our storage also. I am really stoked, I miss my sewing machine badly and my fabric stash equally.

What what

I totally forgot about how terrible 90 percent humidity feels like in 80 degree weather. It's been hot to say it lightly.

CSA

The Old North End Farmers Market is located less than 500 feet from our door.



I really do need to invest in a camera other than my iPhone.





This is my amazing CSA Farm basket that I picked up from Samara CSA Farm

It included
-a huge bunch of garlic scapes
-bunch of onions
-strawberries
-dill
-spicy salad mix
-swiss chard



Chickens!!!




The strawberries were a giant hit because they were bit sized. Everything bite sized is good in my toddlers world.

Stolen ideas!

I haven't been blogging for a few days, mostly because I had a very sick toddler. I also have been having a few 'issues' so I am using all of this as my excuse.
Anyhow, after a relaxing weekend at my inlaws in the land of zero cell service and dial up, I am ready to blog!
Little man and I went to the library today. The Burlington library has a radical kids room! I pretty much grab a few books and sit alone while my toddler runs around fondling everything.

Slipcover!

Do you remember this chair?
From FREE STUFF FRIDAY post two weeks ago.

I picked it up on craigslist for free.
Well my wonderful neighbor gave me some really amazing fabric.





Today I whipped up this slipcover in about an hour.

















Slipcovers are totally easy to make, really I promas. I just pretty much pin and sew and cut. Whalla you have a slipcover. If anyone needs a tutorial let me know!
